Jere Kekkonen received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Wellness and Medical Technology from the University of Oulu in 2017 and 2018, respectively. The D.Sc. (Tech.) degree in Electrical Engineering he received from the University of Oulu in 2021. His dissertation was awarded as an exemplary doctoral thesis at the 10th-anniversary ceremony of the University of Oulu Graduate School.
During the year 2021, Dr Kekkonen visited both the Biopharmaceuticals Group at the University of Helsinki and the Group of Freeze-drying of Biologicals at the University of Eastern Finland. Since 2021 he has been working as a postdoctoral researcher with the Circuits and Systems Research Unit at the University of Oulu.
His main research topic is the applications of custom-made integrated sensor arrays (SPAD arrays) in combined time-resolved Raman and fluorescence lifetime spectroscopy, especially in the fields of biopharmacy and biomedicine.
