Juha Ridanpää

I am a University Lecturer in Cultural Geography and also a Docent in University of Oulu (geography, popular culture in particular). My research interests include popular geopolitics, narrative regions, postcolonial studies, ethnic minorities, geographical studies of humour and literary geography. Research materials and themes have included northern literatures, Muhammed cartoons, Meänkieli speaking minorities, northern music, border films, film reviews and crisis events. I work also as an editor in an interdisciplinary open-access e-journal Literary Geographies.

I work as a GDPR Steward for the Faculty of Science.
