Jukka Mettovaara

The topic of my doctoral dissertation is the effects of revitalization in the Aanaar (Inari) Saami language, focusing on language change. I study different grammatical features in modern Aanaar Saami and compare them to the older language from about 60 years ago. The aim is to create an overview of the Aanaar Saami language as spoken in the 21st century. I will also examine speakers' views and attitudes towards the language change.
