Juliana Cardoso Neves
PhD
Postdoctoral researcher
My research has been focused on the development and characterization of nanomaterials with technological applications, especially involving the study of its surfaces and interfaces. I completed my MSc studies in Physical Chemistry at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil), which were focused on evaluating the mechanisms of filler-matrix interaction on polymeric composites with functionalized carbon nanotubes, for a better understanding of the properties showed by the final material. During my PhD in Chemistry at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil), I conducted studies involving the development of hybrid ceramic coatings with mainly self-cleaning applications, focusing on the several modifications strategies and photocatalytic mechanisms. Currently, my research involves the synthesis and characterization of semiconductors for applications such as hydrogen evolution, with the focus on the photocatalytic mechanisms.
