Professor of Practice in Oulu University Kari-Pekka Heikkinen

The main task of the professorship is to build a multidisciplinary and international degree program with the working title "Innovations in product development" and the related research team at the University of Oulu. The main task of education and research is to strengthen the resource efficiency of SMEs, producing innovations, knowledge and experts to support the companies' innovative ability, growth and exports.

Kari-Pekka Heikkinen's (DSc, MSc) work experience includes private and public companies, as well as part-time entrepreneurship. Throughout his career, KP has worked in various roles in product, innovation and business projects in telecom, internet and educational product development tasks in Finland, Europe, Asia and Russia. In his doctoral thesis, KP studied the professional learning taking place in the professional and multidisciplinary project environment of a higher education institution between 2015 and 2018.
