Kasimir Sandbacka

I am a postdoctoral researcher in literature at the University of Oulu. Since 2020, I have been working on a research project concerning metamodernism and European post-war history and ideologies in Finnish contemporary literature. This project is funded by the Finnish Cultural Foundation.

In 2018-2020, I participated in the research project “The productions of Tove Jansson” funded by the Kone Foundation. My focus was on the late modern sensibilities in Jansson’s short stories.

My dissertation examined the modern project in the works of Northern Finnish author Rosa Liksom.
