My doctoral research focuses on nature-based solutions for wastewater treatment. The study aims to delve into Hybrid Microbial Electrochemical Technology Constructed Wetlands (HyMETland). Like constructed wetlands (CW), HyMETlands utilize nature's processes for wastewater purification. The core idea of HyMETland wetlands lies in the electroconductive substrate material and electroactive bacteria (EAB). In this study, we compare constructed wetlands and HyMETlands, focusing on the performance of HyMETlands, the suitability of substrate materials, and the understanding of internal processes.
