I am an archaeologist and MA in science communication. I completed my PhD in archaeology in 2021. In my PhD research that incorporated archaeological materials and historical source I studied early modern pitch industry in the town of Oulu, Finland. During my career I have acted as a field archaeologist as well as a local authority in the field of cultural heritage in the city of Oulu. Currently, I work as a post-doctoral researcher on the project called “Contemporary archaeological perspective on the inequalities of the welfare society: Vaakunakylä and its communities in 1947-1925” founded by Kone Foundation. My research topics include gender relations (especially on the role of women), children, and material culture.
