Muzammil Behzad

I work with Prof. Guoying Zhao towards my fully-funded Ph.D. degree majoring in deep learning driven facial expressions in University of Oulu, Finland. Previously, I received my partially-funded B.S. degree (with distinctions - double medalist and valedictorian) and fully-funded M.S. degree, both in Electrical Engineering, from COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Pakistan and King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia, in 2013 and 2017, respectively. Then, I served as Graduate Teaching Assistant at KFUPM (January 2015 - January 2016), and was a visiting research scholar at King Abdullah University of Science & Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia (summers of 2015-2016). So far, I have held research and academic positions in University of Oulu, Finland (Sep 2018 - Present), Brown University, United States (Feb - May 2019), Pukyong National University (PKNU), South Korea (May - August 2018), and in CUI, Pakistan (September 2013 - August 2014, and September 2016 - May 2018). My research interests lie in signal and image processing, machine and deep learning for facial microexpressions, and their applications.
