Ninha Silva

Ninha Silva holds a BA in Journalism from University of Coimbra (Portugal), a MA in International Relations from University of Westminster (UK) and a MSc in Public Health from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (UK).

Ninha is currently a Doctoral Researcher at the Research Unit of Population Health, and her PhD investigates outcomes (i.e cognition, mental health) of term born siblings of preterm born children and how preterm birth impacts the occurrence of subsequent pregnancies and births. Through use of longitudinal data from the EU Child Cohort Network and from the Health and Demographic Surveillance System (HDSS) from rural Matlab district in Bangladesh, Ninha hopes to contribute to this research field with strong methodological and statistical evidence.

Ninha also teaches in the International Master of Epidemiology and Biomedical Data Science programme.

Before joining University of Oulu, Ninha worked as project manager at Imperial College London for several years.
