Nurul Huda Mahmood was born in Bangladesh. He received the M.Sc. degree in Mobile Communications from Aalborg University, Denmark, the Ph.D. degree in communications theory from Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway, and docentship (Habilitation degree) in critical Machine Type Communications from the University of Oulu, Finland.

Nurul Huda is currently a Senior Researcher and Adjunct Professor at Center for Wireless Communications (CWC), University of Oulu. He is also the coordinator for Wireless Connectivity research area, and leads critical MTC research within the 6G Flagship research program. Prior to joining the University of Oulu in 2018, he was an Assoc. Professor with Department of Electronics Systems at Aalborg University, Denmark.

His current research focus is on resilient communications for the 6G era, resource optimization for critical Internet of Things (IoT) networks, and modeling and performance analysis of wireless industrial networks.
