I am a biochemist graduated form University of Oulu in 2004. I received my PhD degree in Medical Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Oulu in 2014. I have been working as a postdoctoral researcher in Prof. Jukka Hakkola's research group since 2015.
My research focus is in chemical exposure and subsequent nuclear receptor activation leading to metabolic disruption with main interest in nuclear receptor PXR. In my current research I study the effect of in utero chemical exposure on future metabolic health in mice.
My work is part of EU funded projects EDCMET ( Metabolic effects of endocrine disrupting chemicals: novel testing methods and adverse outcome pathways, 2019-2024) and NEMESIS (Novel effect biomarkers for metabolic disruptors: evidence on health impacts to science and policy needs, 2024-2028), and I am funded by Profi6 Fibrobesity.
