I am currently pursuing my PhD degree on Computer Application Technology in Northwest University (China) and visiting the Center for Machine Vision and Signal Analysis at University of Oulu, with a focus on human facial behavior analysis.
My current work focuses on using machine learning methods to analyze and quantify pain from both facial videos and physiological signals. There is huge variability among different person in interpreting and behaving pain due to their various background and experiences. Hence analyzing pain from observer view using computer is a challenging problem. To address this, I am working on designing deep learning frameworks that could not only incorporate facial dynamics, but also consider the advantages from different modalities (i.e. physiological signals).
