Sanna Ojalammi

I work as a project researcher in the AGEMERA project of the Kerttu Saalasti Institute's Regional Excellence Unit, which uses a large-scale consortium study to investigate the potential of critical raw materials and the social acceptability of mining in Finland, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Zambia, Poland and Germany.

I have a background in geography and have carried out social geography research on the formation of territoriality, human emotions and attachment to place. My research interests include environmental sustainability, biodiversity, natural resource management, and the meaning of place attachment for people in urban and rural environments. In my current research, I explore, through ethnographic research, the social acceptability of mining and the attachment to place of local people, their concerns and future aspirations in relation to mining and the extractive sector in Finland.
