Sara Sabet
MSc.
Doctoral researcher
I am a researcher in Architecture with a strong interest in social topics and collective design. My research journey began with a focus on socio-spatial segregation, a subject I became deeply passionate about during my master's studies in Urban Design at the University of Isfahan, Iran.
Since segregation is closely tied to social exclusion, I became interested in finding practical solutions for promoting social inclusion through urban design. This led me to work on methods and projects that involve society in the decision-making process, which led to conducting collective design workshops and collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders, from policymakers to researchers and various social groups.
Building on the concept of collective design in modern public spaces, I connected my research with the notion of "collective memory" and began my doctoral studies at the University of Oulu in 2023, in which I was awarded the Finland Fellowship. I am currently pursuing my PhD as part of the "Memory of the City" project.
