Research Unit of Health Sciences and Technology
Faculty of Medicine
Shahab Khakpour is a doctoral researcher in Medical Physics at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Oulu, Finland, since 2017. He received his B.Sc and M.Sc in Mechanical Engineering by focusing on musculoskeletal and cardiovascular biomechanics. Also, he has several years of work experience as a mechanical analyzer and designer in a broad range of industries including petroleum and construction. Currently, he is working on finding the biomechanical mechanisms, responsible for increasing the incidence of acetabular and sacral fracture among the elderly by using CT-based finite element method. Shahab's PhD project is currently funded by I4Future MSC-COFUND from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skoldowska-Curie grant agreement No 713606.
