Shilpa Lingaiah

Shilpa Lingaiah is a post-doctoral researcher in the Research Unit of Clinical Medicine, Medical Research Centre, Oulu. She has a clinical training in medicine with a PhD in Medicine. Her research focuses on the long-term health implications of gestational diabetes. She is currently working on the clinical follow-up study of the Finnish Gestational Diabetes (FinnGeDi) cohort. The purpose of this study is to map the health status of women with gestational diabetes 11–15 years after delivery, with special emphasis on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and cardiometabolic health, and to identify women at the highest risk of subsequent morbidity.
