Veera Juntunen

I am a doctoral researcher at the Geography Research Unit. In my dissertation, I study the construction of security in a network formed by various actors in the sparsely populated eastern and northern border areas of Finland. In my research, I understand security as both everyday security and geopolitical security. I am interested in the significance of community and volunteering in producing security together with state authorities, as well as relations between different actors and redistribution of tasks.
