Process Metallurgy's Research Projects

The Process Metallurgy Research Unit focuses on steelmaking processes from reduction metallurgy to continuous casting. Current research topics include hydrogen reduction, electric steelmaking, inclusion metallurgy, solidification as well as circular economy topics, such as utilization of steelmaking slags. Research projects have financed by various funding instruments such as Horizon Europe, Research Fund of Coal and Steel (RFCS), Research Counsil of Finland, Business Finland, European Regional Funds and foundations.
