Estonian, Finnish
My research field is interactional linguistics, and I have conducted studies in multilingual and multimodal interaction. I am currently interested in how words and grammar from two languages form new constructions and how these constructions are used to perform social actions in interaction. I am currently leading two projects: Linguistic and Bodily Involvement in Multicultural interactions (LinBo) and Language and social interaction in war and exile (LanWE).
I work at the University of Oulu Department of Languages and Literature where I teach Finnish and Estonian linguistics.
