The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Sustainable Mineral and Metal Processing Engineering-PROMISE was established due to the awareness of increasing demands in the quantity and diversity of minerals, metals, and materials as we move towards renewable energy, electromobility, digital communication and other clean-energy technologies.

The consortium organizing PROMISE consists of four leading Universities in mineral processing and mining engineering in Europe and South America. The partners are the Oulu Mining School, University of Oulu – Finland, The Montauniversität Leoben – Austria, The University of Zagreb – Croatia and Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria – Chile.

The partners complement and strengthen each other by involving top-level mineral processing laboratories, pilot plants, analytical equipment and recognized scholars and experts. The consortium has strong ties with the processing industry.

First students from the 1st Cohort of EMJM-PROMISE, who started their studies on 2022, are graduating. They will present results of the research developed during their master thesis during the seminar day.
