Our research activities at Martti Ahtisaari Institute (MAI) focus on the challenges of sustainable and responsible business, particularly the dynamics, models, and ecosystems of business as part of global market operations.

Research collaboration and company co-operation

MAI focuses on challenges of responsible businesses, especially on changing businesses and ecosystems in the global markets. The goal of the institute´s research and development activities is to produce new scientifically rigorous and relevant knowledge and foster innovations. We collaborate with research institutions and companies nationally and internationally on topics relevant for business analytics and entrepreneurship. Our research projects are funded by European Union, Academy of Finland, Business Finland, among others.

Our research themes cover digital business and emerging technologies, specifically next generation mobile communications (5G and 6G), platforms and AI, responsible leadership and social sustainability in business, digital health and entrepreneurship, business decision making, green transition and digitalization, and smart city.
