Apps using the old authentication method stop working
The university has moved to use the modern Azure authentication recommended by Microsoft, which also includes MFA verification. The older Legacy authentication is unsafe because only a username and password are needed for login. Legacy authentication will be disabled on 8 June 2022.
Legacy authentication has until now been allowed only on the campus inner network and in the VPN connection. Thus, its blocking only applies to a small percentage of staff and students, and come out mostly on mobile, macOS and Linux devices, as well as on your own PC devices, which may use an incompatible client and/or a traditional email protocol (IMAP, POP) that does not support MFA. These apps will not work as of June 8.
