Sustainable development courses available for all students 

The wide range of sustainable development courses are now available for all students at the University of Oulu. In the courses, offered by different faculties, you can get familiar with different dimensions of sustainability from multidisciplinary perspective. By bringing out study possibilities concerning sustainable development, university encourages students to advance sustainability and to utilize multidisciplinary thinking.

A collection of Sustainable Development courses has been published in the Study Guide Peppi. These courses are placed under heading ”Sustainable Development” in category ”Minor subjects and other modules” within each faculty. In addition to introduction, courses have been divided into different dimensions of sustainability. Both courses in Finnish and in English have been included. You are free to choose courses regardless of your study background, i.e. most of the courses do not have any specific prerequisites.

The Sustainable development studies will be introduced also in the Stustainable Development Week. Welcome to visit the stand of the Sustainable development studies at Linnanmaa Tellus on Tuesday 12 October at 12-14.

Starting from autumn 2022, Sustainable Development Minor (25 ECTS) and an introduction course to sustainable development (5 ECTS) will be offered to students as a joint undertaking of all faculties.
