University Collegium approves financial statements and annual report – meetings to be interpreted in the future
The Collegium of the University of Oulu has approved the University's financial statements and annual report for 2021 at its meeting on 15 June 2022.
The agenda of the University Collegium was to grant a discharge to the members of the Board and the Rector. Olli Silvén made a counter proposal, which was supported by Jari Laru. Following a vote, the rector and Board of the university will be discharged for 2021 with the following exception: the rector and the chairman of the Board for 2021 will not be discharged on three issues that were included in the Collegium's May request for further clarification. At its May meeting, the Collegium requested additional information on, among other things, allocating the university's common costs, the university's real estate strategy in writing, and handling of proposed amendments to the Board's minutes of November 24, 2021.
Other collegium decisions:
In the future, the University of Oulu will cover the costs of interpreting to English at University Collegium meetings, evening schools and seminars. The working language of the collegium is Finnish, but the members include international students who do not speak Finnish.
At its June meeting, the Collegium also took note of the annual clock for its term of office 2022–2025 and discussed the meeting etiquette to be followed at its meetings.
