Welcome to follow the event about student experience at the University of Oulu 

Students of the University of Oulu are welcome to follow the North Changes the World webinar on 28 January at 1-2 pm about student experience. In the event will hear how we are doing, peek into the action plans of education and hear students’ thoughts. Emma Hulkkonen, the 2. Vice Chair of the The Board of the Student Union OYY, will bring students’ voice to the discussion.

The North Changes the World is the series of events for university staff about the strategy and goals that has been set for the activities. Student experience is about everyday life of students and that’s why this event is now open also for students.

Programme 28 January at 1-2 pm

  • How are we doing in relation to student experience? Director of Academic Affairs Vesa-Matti Sarenius
  • How do we improve the student experience? Peek to the action plans of education, Vice Rector for Education Tapio Koivu
  • Discussion: What do students wish for?, Tapio Koivu, Vesa-Matti Sarenius and Emma Hulkkonen

The event takes place in Zoom in Finnish there will be English simultaneous interpretation. To follow the simultaneous interpretation, you have to download the latest version of the Zoom app or at least Zoom version 5.2.2 (see the Zoom instructions below).

How to listen to the English simultaneous translation in a webinar?

PLEASE NOTE! Make sure you have the latest version of the Zoom app (or at least Zoom version 5.2.2)

When the host of the webinar will start the interpretation session, you will see the Interpretation function in the webinar controls.

  1. Click Interpretation icon. The icon looks like a globe. If you cannot see the interpretation option, check the ellipsis [...] menu to see the options that do not fit in the visible options.
  2. Choose “English” from the language menu.
  3. You will hear the interpreter translating and the voices in Finnish in the main channel are fainted. If you don’t want to hear the faint sound of the Finnish language speech, choose “Mute Original Audio”.
