Would you like to improve your well-being through exercise? Do you want more physical activity in your everyday life, but you don't know where and how to start?
"People often look to exercise counselling for extra motivation and a plan for exercise," says Mika Kankainen, UniMove's exercise counsellor. According to Kankainen, the most typical reasons for seeking exercise counselling include lack of exercise routines and finding meaningful forms of exercise. "Exercise is also hoped to help with mental well-being and stress management," Kankainen continues.
Not all of the people who come to exercise counselling are newcomers to the sport, but also formerly active people who, for various reasons, have taken a longer break from exercise.
"Exercise counselling is always based on the student's own needs and goals. The role of the exercise counsellor is to give practical tips for a more physical everyday life and to provide support and encouragement to students to achieve their own goals," says Kankainen.
UniMove's exercise counselling service is free of charge and does not require UniMove membership. "It's worth taking advantage of the free service and come and discuss with me," Kankainen encourages. You can book an appointment easily on the UniMove website using the appointment calendar.
