Project description
Although the tensile and compressive strengths of AAC are in the same range as OPCC, AAC has been found to be significantly more brittle than OPCC. With AAC, fracture occurs abruptly without significant ductility. The aim of this research is both to study the mechanisms behind the strength and mechanical behaviour of AAC, and to propose a more ductile AAM binder for improved mechanical properties.
