Jonas Miran Zade
MSc.
Doctoral Researcher
Jonas Miran Zade is a doctoral researcher in the Fibre and Particle Engineering Research Unit at the University of Oulu. He received his bachelor's degree in Forest Products at the University of Applied Forest Sciences Rottenburg in Germany and his master's degree in Forest Science with a major in Woodbiology and Woodtechnolgy at the University of Göttingen, Germany.
His bachelor's thesis was about the process and material development of a bio-based sheet moulding compound, that was produced through the combination of epoxidised soybean oil and flax fibre in cooperation with a German automotive supplier. The topic of his master's thesis was the process and material development of thermoformable cellulose composites, which were realised out of a combination of pulp and biopolymers, such as chitosan, thus benefitting the paper packing industry.
He is currently working on the development of the process for interfacial complexation of nanocellulose to 2D structures, which should lead to green barrier materials in sustainable packaging.
