Nanostructured lignocelluloses
Our research focuses on new nanostructured biomaterials, their production, phenomena and applications. We are studying cellulose nanomaterials and a variety of other natural nanostructures, such as nanolignin. We develop hybrid materials where lignocelluloses are combined with other materials such as inorganic or bioactive compounds.

Research group description
We use green chemistry approaches, especially so-called deep eutectic solvents, to modify lignocelluloses and to develop applications of nanostructured lignocelluloses for technical use, such as packaging and textile fibres, and new green electronics and biomedical materials.
