Minoo Yadi

I am a doctoral researcher at the Environmental and Chemical Engineering Unit at the University of Oulu, currently contributing to the REMHub project — a cutting-edge initiative aimed at advancing EU excellence in rare earth elements (REEs) and magnet technologies. My research focuses on leaching processes and membrane-based separation techniques for the efficient and sustainable recovery of REEs. With prior academic and research experience in both hydrometallurgical refining and membrane technologies, including nanofiber fabrication for many range applications, I bring a multidisciplinary approach to the field. Through REMHub, which brings together 24 partners across five countries, I am actively involved in developing and piloting novel technologies for REE extraction from both primary sources and industrial side streams. This project also aligns with broader Re-X strategies — recycling, reuse, refurbishment, and repurposing — to enhance the circularity and supply security of critical raw materials in the EU.
