Mulubirhan Gebretsadik Tekle

I have a master's degree in Hydropower Development from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, with significant teaching and research experience since completing my bachelor's degree from Arba Minch University, Ethiopia. My research interests encompass hydrology and hydraulic engineering, hydropower and its environmental impacts, climate change, ecohydrology, river restoration, and natural hazard management. Currently, I am a Doctoral Researcher in the Water, Energy, and Environmental Engineering Unit at the University of Oulu, where I am involved in the TRIWA project. My PhD focuses on utilizing high-resolution Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) to monitor river restoration efforts in the Tornio River, Finland. My research aims to assess the success of these restoration activities by collecting detailed spatial and temporal data, enabling a comprehensive analysis of restoration outcomes. Ultimately, my work seeks to provide valuable insights into the effectiveness of restoration techniques, contributing to improved management and conservation strategies for river ecosystems.
