His research is associated with the newly started StrokeData research program supported by Business Finland in which altogether fifteen research institutions, companies and hospitals participate.
The Finnish Cultural Foundation awards grants to different fields of science, art, and culture through its Central Fund and 17 regional funds. The North Ostrobothnia Regional Fund of the foundation is devoted to promoting and developing the arts, the sciences, and other fields of endeavor in North Ostrobothnia. It was founded in 1954, when it formed part of a joint fund with the Kainuu and Lapland Regional Funds. It became a separate entity in 1968.
Mahmoud’s grant was provided from the Fund of Niilo Ryhtä, who was a member of the parliament, served as a minister three times, and was the governor of the Oulu province 1967-1973.
Congratulations, Mahmoud!
