Institute to work for the FREED Interreg project

Martti Ahtisaari Institute will work for FREED (Funding Resources for Innovation in Energy Enterprise Development), a three year joint project funded under the Interreg’s Northern Periphery and Arctic Program. The Project will provide a network for SMEs to introduce and develop energy innovations, which would otherwise possibly be unavailable to them.

The project is led by the University of Oulu and includes foreign partners from Scotland, Northern Ireland, Norway, The United Kingdom, Germany and Ireland. The institute’s role is to support the project by developing and piloting methods and practices to evaluate the business potential of innovations.
