Oulu Business School welcomes new EM Lyon students for winter 2025

Oulu Business School delegate visited the brand-new faculty building of EM Lyon on the Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship (GIE) Master’s program pre-orientation. A new cohort of twenty GIE MSc-students will arrive in Oulu early 2025 for a three-month study semester. The delegation from Oulu Business School consisted of Dean Janne T. Järvinen, International Coordinator Elisa Mejias and Program Director Antti Kauppila.

The collaboration between OBS and EM Lyon dates back to autumn 2007 when OBS Executive Education delegate first visited and built ties with EM Lyon. Already in spring 2008 the course "Building and leading multi-cultural teams" -course was introduced into the contents of EMBA. Since then, OBS EMBA students have visited EM Lyon annually for this content.

Other types of collaboration were taken along as the time passed: EM Lyon's International MBA program annual 3-day visits to Oulu between 2010 - 2019 for "Business The Nordic Way" -content, teacher exchange both ways but especially from EM Lyon to OBS for the economics content in OBS full-time MBA program between 2008-2013, and formal Erasmus exchange agreement and actual student mobility from 2018 onwards.

Now, this connection has again showed its strength through Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship MSc program collaboration. In winter 2024, the first cohort of students arrived in Oulu to take courses at the OBS. The students came from France, Italy, China, and Columbia. We are already waiting for the next cohort to arrive in Oulu early next year.
