Sari Perätalo to study smart city businesses
The doctoral program brings together the disciplines of Educational Sciences, Humanities, Geography, and Economics and Business Administration. It fosters in its part cross-disciplinary research within the university’s “Understanding humans in change” research focus area. There are altogether over six hundred doctoral researchers in the program.
Sari Perätalo holds a Master’s degree in Geography and is now working towards her doctoral dissertation in Economics and Business Administration. The research question that she addresses is of special interest also because of her background. She will investigate the adoption of the business model approach in smart cities: what are its opportunities, how to govern the businesses of a smart city, and what would be the potential pitfalls and benefits.
