The aim of my doctoral dissertation is to deepen the understanding of emotions as a part of student teacher identity construction to prepare them for the changing teacher’s work of today. Alongside narrative research, I employ arts-based methods, especially photographs. Art has the ability to evoke and communicate emotions: words alone may not always be enough to describe emotions, but other ways of telling, such as photographs, can help.
I do my doctoral dissertation in collaboration with Unpacking and Redefining Changing Relationships in Teachers’ Work (RELA 2020-2024, Research Council of Finland) and Pre-service Teachers Navigate Teachers’ Changing Work and Its Relationality’ (NAVI 2022-2025, Eudaimonia Institute) -research projects.
